The Shore Leadership program provides executives and members of senior management from businesses, nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, and professional firms with the opportunity to learn more about the Eastern Shore community--our shared isssues and opportunities--while enhancing your own leadership skills.
Participants in each class are drawn from across the region and cut across social, economic, occupational, and jurisdictional lines. Program alumni return to their communities with a greater appreciation of regional issues and a better understanding of how those issues should best be addressed.
The program takes place over 9 months, from April through December. Participants meet one day each month, except for April, when a two-day overnight retreat is held.
Each session focuses on a topic of regional interest, including legacy/history, technology, economic development, community and arts, environment, education, and government. Continuing education units are available.
Applications are now being accepted for the class of 2010. The deadline has been extended to December 31, 2009. Applicants will be notified by January 15, 2010, if they have been selected for the class.
Tuition is $2,400 ($2,200 if you or your company belongs to a chamber of commerce on the Eastern Shore), plus a $150 application fee.
